How To Use Lemon And Baking Soda To Unclog The Kitchen Drain

The kitchen sink is often clogged, because grease and other food debris fall into the sink every time you do the dishes. To unclog it with chemicals will destroy the drain and pipes over time, plus that those chemical vapors can be easily inhaled, leading to serious diseases.

But, if you use natural ways to unclog the sink, you will avoid those problems.

It’s better to prevent than to unclog the sink

On pipes, fat deposits and food scraps accumulate. You can prevent this from happening by pouring hot water on the drain every week, or whenever you think it’s necessary.

However, if the sink it’s clogged, you can use the following solution to unclog it:

Baking soda and lemon

You need:
– 4 tablespoons of baking soda
– the juice from 1 lemon

Method 1
Pour the baking soda directly onto the drain, and then pour the lemon juice over it. The chemical reaction between these 2 ingredients will melt the grease plug and it will unclog the sink.

Method 2
Add the 2 ingredients in a large bottle! Attention, during the reaction of these 2 ingredients, will foam will form that you don’t want to lose. So, pour the lemon gradually and use a bigger bottle. Then mix the contents very well and you will get a solution that you can pour on the drain. Let it act for a few minutes then pour a pot of boiling water to clean any traces of dirt.
