Delaying the “hard job” of cleaning the oven will only make it harder to clean. At least these were my mother’s words, until I found the secret recipe to clean the oven effortlessly. After trying all sort of remedies, I can definitely say that this is the one that does real wonders in cleaning that greasy oven.
You need:
– baking soda
– white vinegar
– rubber gloves
– paper towels
How to proceed?
Remove the grills and trays from the oven. With a paper towel, wipe the oven’s walls. In this way, dust and residue will fall. Remove debris with a paper towel.
In a small bowl, add 1 cup of baking soda and 3/8 cups of water. Add the water gradually and stir well until you obtain a paste.
Put your rubber gloves and apply the paste all over the oven’s walls. You will notice that the paste will become brownish. Don’t worry, it’s normal.
Do the same with the grills that you’ve removed from the oven, but also with the tray.
Let the baking soda paste act overnight or for at least 12 hours.
Wipe the oven with a cotton cloth moistened in warm water. Remove the paste that is easy to remove. Don’t insist, even if the paste remains on the oven, because it is useful for the next step.
Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray it over the entire surface of the oven. Let the vinegar do its job for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe the oven well with warm water. Your oven will look like new!
