We all know that silverware turns black over time, looking way too vintage! It’s great wearing your grandmother’s ring, or your mother’s jewelry, but when they turn black, they don’t look so amazing! Instead going to a jeweler, you can prepare your own solution to clean silver jewelry and other silver items. Actually, this method was “sold” by an old jeweler which I deeply trust!
You need :
– 2 glasses with water
– 2 tablespoons of baking soda
– 1 tablespoon of salt
Just put those 2 glasses of water to boil in a pot. When it starts boiling, turn off the fire and add the baking soda and salt. Mix well, until the salt and baking soda dissolve.
Add your jewelry in this solution and let it stand for 30 minutes. Then, wipe each piece with a clean cloth soaked in the same solution. At the end, rinse the jewelry well, with plenty of water.
Careful! Don’t use baking soda paste nor sprinkle baking soda powder directly on the jewelry because you may scratch them.
