How To Clean A Burnt Iron Soleplate Using Only Vinegar

Dirty or scorched iron is an unpleasant problem – no matter if you burned a garment and there are pieces left on the metal plate, or there are mineral spots on it. When the bottom of the iron is not perfectly clean the risk of burning your cloths rises. This is why we picked the most efficient method for DIY cleaning the iron.

Vinegar

Pour 1 cup of vinegar in a pot. Put the pot on the stove at low heat – just warm the vinegar a little bit. Soak a cotton cloth in vinegar and start rubbing the iron soleplate until the burnt is gone.

If this method fails, add 3 teaspoons of baking soda in vinegar, and stir well until is dissolved. Moisten the cloth in this solution and rub the iron soleplate again. This time the burnt stains from the iron soleplate will be removed like magic.
